3 key areas in life this blog can help you in:
Today, many of us are called to living international lives, be it imposed or by choice. And Life in a different country can be daunting, especially in a country as foreign as Japan. Think about it, you start off with a language barrier which can quickly translate into a cultural barrier. You can’t read the signs to find your way, shopping for daily necessities requires an electronic dictionary and the food you eat requires an open mind. To make matters worse, you must rebuild your support system from scratch while contending with separation from family and friends. Can I get an Amen?!
As you read these pages, I pray you find a support system guiding you with:
- Career tips + Life advice (things I picked up from living in Japan, or life in general)
- Healthy living (from martial arts, health & nutrition, spirituality)
- Inspired change and growth (from seeing other people do it like you can do it and standing on the “shoulders of giants”)
This blog will be structured around 3 main categories:
- Make Moves | 2. Move with Me | 3. Move me
Make Moves is about providing you with career and professional advice. I worked for approx. 3 years as a career consultant for Hays Japan where I helped people and businesses achieve their most ambitious professional goals. Drawing from this experience, I learned how to hustle and motivate leaders as well as individuals to hustle their way to success.
Move with Me is about body and spirit. I’ve been practicing a form of Pencak Silat called Merpatih Puti for 11 years and competing in international championships for a similar period. Additionally, I regularly (3-4 times a week) box and regularly work on my strength and conditioning. Most importantly, I’m a ecumenical Christian as I believe God is One. And although you can find me with the occasional drink on weekends or events, I live a pretty disciplined life when it comes to exercise and nutrition which gives me balance. I would like to share this with you.
Move Me is an attempt to collect all the inspirational elements that I encounter. I find motivation in people, books, films, situations etc. which I want to document and from which I hope you also find motivation.
